When you’re looking for Toronto’s best deal on a used vehicle purchase or lease, it makes sense to check out sites like Autotrader to see what’s on the lot at each car dealership and what specials they are currently offering. While it may seem convenient, the little known secret is that this is usually not the best way to get the car you want for the price you’re willing to pay.

Looking online for used car inventory in Toronto only gives you limited access to the cars that the dealership has had time to take photos of, perhaps a video, and a basic summary the specs. Especially in a busy season, it can take a couple of days for something to get posted or updated. In addition to the fact that many online sites don’t have the latest (or all) of a dealership’s inventory, a recent study by the UCDA reported that nearly 1 in 3 “private sellers” were actually suspected curbsiders, which is a scary reality for consumers.

You might think that all the used vehicles for sale or lease are available for viewing online, but this is simply not the case. It’s a little old school, but actually getting a hold of a dealership’s leasing specialist is the best way to take the pulse of the inventory (both current and upcoming) and whether a dealer has access to other vehicles outside what’s currently on the lot.

After being in business for over 60 years, we’ve developed such a strong working relationship with our clients that oftentimes, when we find a great used car, we already know which one of our customers is looking for that exact make and model. This means that our vehicles don’t usually sit on the lot for long, if at all, and our customers get access to whatever car they are looking for.

If you have a specific make/model of a vehicle and general budget in mind for a lease or purchase, the best way to get a great deal is to get in touch with one of our account managers and ask them to keep an eye open for the car you want. That way, when a great deal comes along, you’re first in mind.
